Handrail Systems

Handrail systems can be supplied as prefabricated welded panels that are joined together on site using internal expanding connectors. This process reduces the site installation time as the bulk of manufacture has been done in the workshop rather than on site.

Tubular and solid ball type standards can be made in varying heights to suit single, double and multi-line handrails. Balls are drilled to suit handrails and have grub screws fitted to secure the handrails against movement.

Railings

Railings

Railings are manufactured by passing vertical solid bars through holes in the top rail and welding them to the top and bottom horizontals. Panels can be supplied stepped, raking or with a radius, generally to suit requirements.

Finishes – self-colour, hot-dipped galvanised, powder coated to any RAL or BS colour.

Pedestrian Guard Rails

Pedestrian Guard Rails

Manufactured as standard in 2m panels.
These are constructed from 50 x 30 box frame with welded vertical bar infill.
Frames are bolted together at the posts to form a solid panel construction.

Gates

Manufactured from fully welded RHS frames to suit the fencing specifications and incorporate fully welded vertical bars to increase structural rigidity. Gates are hung on fully capped SHS posts.

Any size gates are available from simple pedestrian to large vehicle access gates.

Staircase - Useful Info

Chart providing useful recommendations for staircases

This chart gives preferred rise/going dimensions for any given rake of staircase or ladder and is based on the recommended formula:- twice the rise plus the going – not less than 570mm nor more than 640mm (550 – 700).

‘Going’ is the term used for horizontal dimension of a stair or tread.

‘Rise’ is the vertical dimension.

Treads on open riser stairs should overlap by not less than 16mm and have a nosing depth in the range 25 to 5mm (to aid visibility).
